President Trump orders ban of Broadcom’s acquisition of Qualcomm

This afternoon, United States President Donald Trump signed an order that prohibits any effort by Singapore-based Broadcom from getting US-based Qualcomm.

Bloomberg reports that Trump was encouraged on the order by the Committee on Foreign Financial Investment in the United States, the Treasury Department sub-agency that was currently examining nationwide security effects from such a deal.

” There is reliable proof that leads me to think that Broadcom Ltd. may act that threatens to hinder the nationwide security of the United States,” Trump specified.

Broadcom CEO Hock Tan was reported to have actually invested this afternoon at the Pentagon to curry favor with nationwide security authorities. The business had actually revealed today that it would go up its redomiciling to the United States by a month, possibly bring up issue at CFIUS.
